Berlena's Place Rabbitry

Quality Mini Rex Especially Blue Eye Whites

HALL OF FAME

Mini Rex listed here will be of homebred grand champions.

My first grand champion happened to be my own Berlena's Blueberry. She was BOV BEW at the 2006 Mini Rex Nationals.  She retired from the show table to start production with 3 legs. Now living with Deanna Prichard in Kansas.

Berlena's Blue Chip has 10 legs and is still showing.  I just love this buck! He was BOSV BEW at the 2006 ARBA Convention and the 2007 National Show! Update: Sold to Cody Amick, CA who won 3 more legs with him so now has 13 legs! Update: Now living at Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA.

Berlena's Covert Operation is a lilac. I am especially proud of him because he is out of a BEW!  He also was BOSV Lilac at the 2006 ARBA Convention! Sold to Double L Rabbitry with 4 legs.  Currently with Kathy Rariden in Kansas.

OARR Dreamsicle is Olivia's rabbit. Olivia made the choice to breed her show doe Oreo to Torque with great results! Dream was just retired to production with 4 legs. She got her first 2 legs at 11 weeks old.  Now living with Cindy Guillory, TX.

OARR Coca Cola (littermate to the above rabbit Dream) was a buck we sold to youth exhibitor Allison In Bunnyland Rabbitry with 1 leg.  Cola also got his first BOV leg at 11 weeks. He has since been granded with 4 legs!  Congratulations Allison!

Berlena's ZZ Top won his third leg with a Best Opp Breed.
He won BOSV White at the 2006 ARBA Convention!  Sold to Walter Clark in TN.

Berlena's Zzyzx Road won her 3rd leg while on a litter.  She just looked so nice I had to take her to the show!
Dam is  G.C. Jager's Remedy, her sire is G.C. Crimson's Moe. Sold to Julia & Karen Sommerhauser, CA.
Berlena's Blue Eye Shadow (BEW) won her Sr. leg as a 3 1/2 month old.  She had 2 Jr. legs so I figured I would just go ahead and bump her.  She won over older Sr. does!  She is still on the show string so I expect her to have a few more legs before she is retired. She was sold to Lisa DiMambro with 5 legs.
Divine Autumn Rabbitry just let me know of another homebred champion... Berlena's Purple Rain, a lilac buck that they purchased from another breeder.  He has 3 legs with mutiple BOV and BOSVs!

Waiting for an updated picture!
Berlena's Deja Blu is a littermate to Berlena's Blue Eye Shadow.  She has started production with 5 legs. Sold to Kati Hanson, MN.
Berlena's Windex earned 17 legs before retiring as a brood doe.  She is the best BEW I have produced so far.
She won Best of Variety at the 2007 Mini Rex Nationals out of 27 entered.
UPDATE: Now living at Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA.
Berlena's Zoolander just got his 7th leg with another BOSB win.  He has the best fur that I have bred out of my rabbitry.
He was 3rd place jr. buck at the 2007 Mini Rex National Show. Now living with Cortney Wills, CA.
Berlena's Zola is a littermate to Zoolander.  She also has that awesome fur.  She was sold to Colorado with 2 legs.
She has since won 3 more legs.  Congratulations Leilani McPhie!

Berlena's Vienna just won her senior leg.  She has a total of 4.  I am really hoping she is a vienna carrier so she will be bred shortly to a BEW to test.  I have my fingers crossed! Gone to live with Senia Phillips, GA!  Update: Now living at Cresthill's Rabbitry in MS.

Berlena's Bluegill won his senior leg with a BOSV win.  He will be going to live with Sonya Ledet in North Carolina.

Berlena's Zulu Warrior won his 2 senior legs as a 5 month old.  Looking forward to seeing how he does at Convention! Gone to live at Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA.

Berlena's Clearblue Easy won her senior leg as a 4 1/2 month old.  She is a full sister to Berlena's Windex so I guess its not surprising! :) Gone to live with Kyla Graves in Indiana.
Berlena's Wild Blue Yonder also won her senior leg as a junior. This is a very deep and typey doe that I have lots of breeding plans for! Meanwhile she is still showing and will be at Convention. Update: Yonder was BOV of 40+ at 2007 Convention! UPDATE: Yonder won her 8th leg while 2 weeks pregnant!
Berlena's iPod Nano is a castor vienna carrier.  He has been doing very well and got his 3rd leg with a Best of Variety win!  I am very proud of this little boy!
Berlena's Kimono is a hot doe.  Second place Sr. Doe at 2007 Convention in a class of 18!

Berlena's Geisha is the sister to Kimono.  She was Best of Variety Himalayan at the 2007 ARBA Convention out of 56 Himis.  She was sold to Cody Amick with 2 legs and he just won her Sr. leg.

Berlena's Anchor Blue was Best Opposite Variety BEW at the 2007 ARBA Convention.  He won 2 Sr. legs at the last show to complete his grand champion. He will soon be going to his new home Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA!Berlena's Lake is one of the best BEW I have produced. She is right up there with Windex.  Lake is a very small doe and just barely got her Sr. Leg.
Berlena's Razor just got his 6th leg with a BOV win. Another nice son of Buresh's Torque.  He will be going to his new home in Georgia with Senia Phillips.

Update: Now living at Cresthill's Rabbitry in MS.
Berlena's Cubic Zirconia won her sr. leg with a BOV win.  She is one of my favorite REW...mainly because of her sweet nature. Zirconia is another champion from sire Cactus Cottontail's Eike. Gone to live at Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA.
Berlena's Fifi is a new grand champion living in New York I was told about.  He (yes HE) was sold as a tiny baby at the 2007 National Mini Rex show. He has been shown by Hannah a youth and has earned 3 legs so far.  Congrats Hannah!  Fifi is a possible vienna carrier and will be test bred soon.
Berlena's Rhythm & Blues just won her sr. leg by accident really.  She entered in the wrong class but ended up winning BOV anyway. Rhythm is my first BEW to win Best Opposite Breed!  She is still very young and I expect great things from her!
Berlena's Yoko Ono finished with 4 legs and has already been bred to
G.C. Jager's Armor. Now living with the Amick family, CA.
Berlena's Aqua has 4 Legs and counting.  Hoping she will be able to make it to Nationals '08 this year. Now living with Kim Hite, OH.

Berlena's Blue Cheese has won 3 legs and is on his way to his new owners the Gerdsens in Arkanas!
Berlena's Sukiyaki has turned out to be quite a nice doe.  Currently has 7 legs and still showing. One of my hopefuls for Nationals '08. Seems to be following in the footsteps of her parents, Razor and Kimono! Update: Sukiyaki was BOSV at Nationals!
Berlena's Zit has been having a hot streak.  He has won 4 Best In Shows and 12 legs to date. His name came about from my obsession with Z names and that I like to have funny or ironic names. I like to make the judges chuckle...it works! :)
Update: Zit was BOSV at '08 Nationals!
Berlena's Zinfandel is a super deep and short doe. She isn't perfect but I think she will work well with Zit to counter his fault.  She is up to 5 legs and counting. I need an updated picture!
Berlena's Nyoko is a result of a Himi to Himi breeding.  She has nice dark points.  Hopefully she will further my breeding of himis with really dark points.
Berlena's Elwood Blues, named after one of the Blues Brothers just became a grand champion with a BOSV win.  I expect a few more wins before retiring.  I love his calm and laid back demeanor. UPDATE: Elwood has a leg injury that prevents him from showing again.Going to live with Chelsea Hineman in Indiana
Berlena's Tweedledee had an identical twin, Tweedledum, thats how he got his name.  His dam is also on this page, Dreamsicle, and also his daughter, Zinfandel, and son, Tattoo.  "Dee" finally got his 3rd leg recently by winning BOB in youth.  Now living at Wedgwood Rabbitry in GA.Berlena's Tattoo as a young promising junior. He went on to win several BOSB and BOV!  I had the chance to buy him back and I did!  He is replacing his sire Tweedledee.
CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Swartout of Northern Lights Rabbitry, for winning Best Opposite Breed twice with GC Berlena's Blue Steel.  He was also the BOSV winner at the 2008 Nationals!  Thanks for buying him and giving him such a great home!CONGRATULATIONS to Sue of Lily's Rabbit Hole for her doe Berlena's Melynas becoming a grand champion.  Thats amazing she was able to win even after raising a litter!  Good luck with your BEW program!
Berlena's Mimosa got her 3rd leg with a BOV win.  Looks like she is following in the footsteps of her mom Kimono!   Mimosa is now retired from the show tables and hopefully will make beautiful babies! Now living with Terrie Brooks in Nevada.Berlena's Zodiac won 3 legs in one weekend of shows.  Just in time because I was just itching to get her bred to Zit!  She has beautiful type so its no wonder she won 3 BOV.  Now living with Terrie Brooks in Nevada.
Berlena's NYPD Blue won his Sr. leg as a Jr.  He and his brother Streak are the widest BEW I've produced so far.  He is also very deep!  I hope his brother will become a GC as well!  Will be going to live with Kyla Graves in Indiana after Convention '08.Berlena's Blue Light Special is a result of breeding a BEW to a BEW which I normally don't do. I just was curious to see the results and they were good!  She is out of Berlena's Anchor Blue and Berlena's Windex.
Berlena's Blue Blood is a buck out of Nano and Windex. I like how short and deep he is. Will go good with my big girls! Berlena's Riddle is a littermate to Zodiac above.  Their parents were King's Jester and The Proud Doe's One Up. I sold him to a youth and I was told recently that Riddle has 20+ legs!
Berlena's Zilch is a that I gave to Gina Layton of Maximus Menargie in Arizona. She has been taking great care of him and now is a grand champion!  Congrats Gina! He is the first Zit son to become a grand champion.

Berlena's Ultra Blue was BOSV BEW at the 2008 Convention in Kentucky. From there she was purchased by a nice young girl Chelsea Hineman from Tripe H Rabbitry in Indiana.  She got her 3rd leg with Chelsea! Congrats!
